Make an
impact today

Every student deserves the chance to make music. Whether you donate an instrument or make a financial contribution, your support helps remove barriers and opens doors for young musicians across West Virginia.

Make a Financial Contribution

Music education changes lives, but not every student has the same opportunity. Your donation helps level the playing field by funding scholarships, covering instrument repairs, and supporting the programs that bring music to schools and communities across West Virginia.

Donate Instruments

Even the smallest act—dusting off an old instrument—can become the start of something life-changing. When you donate to CHIRP, you’re not just clearing space in a closet—you’re putting opportunity into the hands of a student who’s ready to play, learn, and belong.

You can drop off your donated instrument at Bandland in Clarksburg or Beni Kedem Temple in Charleston—just speak with a staff member and they’ll assist you with the process. If neither location is convenient, feel free to message us on Facebook or contact Mike at

wvymfund@gmail.com and we’ll make arrangements to collect the instrument. We’re also working to expand donation sites throughout West Virginia to make giving even easier.

Why give?

  • Give a young musician their first chance to play by passing along an instrument you no longer use. What’s collecting dust today could change a life tomorrow.

  • Help remove the financial barriers that prevent students from joining band or orchestra. Your donation makes music education possible.

  • Be the spark that starts a student’s journey. With your support, they can discover their passion and unlock their potential through music.

  • Make an impact in your own backyard. Every gift goes directly to students in West Virginia schools.

  • Help keep instruments in circulation and out of closets. Your donation supports repairs and places instruments in the hands of students who are ready to learn.

  • Support more than music. Your gift builds confidence, creativity, and opportunity for students who need it most.

“We couldn’t afford to rent an instrument, and I didn’t want my child to miss out. WVYMF made it possible for him to be part of something—and now he’s the one reminding us when it’s time to practice.”

Maria Thompson, Parent

“They get more incentive to practice. They get better sound out of the instruments. And they get to own it. Equipment matters.”

Joseph Jedju, Harrison County Music Teacher

“I didn’t think I’d get to be in band because we couldn’t get an instrument. When they gave me one, I felt like I actually belonged there.”

Jaylen R, Student
