Constantine Thymius Memorial Instrument Scholarship

Conny attended the University of Miami in Florida and was a music major, and was a professional musician for the majority of his life. He served in the Army band at West Point. He taught music in New York and Florida before joining the Populaires at the Greenbrier Hotel and Resort in 1971. He was a passionate player of the saxophone and also passionate about teaching young students how to play. The scholarship was set up by his family to provide a new saxophone to deserving middle or high school student showing aptitude in school band programs in Greenbrier County, West Virginia

  • The student participates in the instrumental program at a school in Greenbrier County, WV

  • The student has demonstrated a good work ethic in the classroom

  • The student is in good academic standing

  • The student has demonstrated an aptitude in music

  • The student is a responsible young person who will show respect for the instrument
